  • 🙏💕 Catholic Schools’ Week & Grandparents Day 💕🙏

    Sun 29 Jan 2023

Our annual celebration of Catholic Schools' Week took place this week beginning on Monday 23rd January. The theme this year was: Walking Together in Faith and Love. There were tasks for children to complete each day focusing on faith and love. We hope these activities provided families with opportunities to discuss the faith with their children.

School Staff and Children were delighted to welcome a number of our grandparents to school this Thursday & Friday. Grandparents are very important people in both our children & parents' lives- through providing love, kindness, warmth and wisdom/guidance. It was important to officially recognise all grandparents past & present through a small gesture of an invitation to school for a cup of tea and bun. A candle was lit in all classes and a prayer of thanksgiving was said for grandparents at assembly.

Both girls completed a variety of tasks to reach that stage of the competition and used their ICT skills to make a PowerPoint presentation on a topic of their choice which they shared with their fellow Badgers in the final. Both were then presented with a certificate to celebrate their achievements. Well done girls!

  • 📚📖 National Story Telling Week 📖📚

    Sat 28 Jan 2023

Next week we will be celebrating National Story Telling Week. It is a celebration of the power of sharing stories. Stories allow us to travel anywhere in the world and learn about places we have never been. They enable us to become different characters and help us develop our empathy. Stories provide important opportunities for us to relax and escape as well as develop essential Literacy skills. Next week classes will be taking part in exciting workshops, creating animations and staff and children will be sharing lots of stories with each other! 📖

  • ❤️ Chester's Challenge ❤️

    Fri 27 Jan 2023

Key Stage 2 have enjoyed a fantastic three-week workshop delivered by the NI Chest Heart and Stroke Charity, in which they learned about the various elements of a healthy lifestyle. Week 1 saw the children learn all about the ‘Eat Well Guide’. During week 2 the children learned about the importance of being active and incorporating as much physical activity into their daily lives as possible. This focused on how much screen time we should have in the evening and how we can incorporate movement with our screen time. Lastly, pupils explored how screen time can affect our sleep and the importance of getting our 10 hours of sleep per night. The children enjoyed their three-week workshop and have taken away some valuable pieces of information to include in their daily lives. Thanks to Jessica and Amy for delivering an engaging workshop.
