Our PE lesson today looked at the skills of basketball. The lesson looked at dribbling the ball by bouncing it and moving forward, passing the ball safely and accurately before looking at shooting into the hoops. Every pupil enjoyed the basketball activities and showed great enthusiasm for all parts of the lesson.
The focus for the next block of PE sessions will focus on football and the associated skills. We started by looking at how to pass the ball to others in a more controlled way so that the other person could stop the ball easily for their turn.
We have enjoyed learning all of the skills associated with dodgeball such as catching, dodging, throwing, and blocking. Today’s focus was on how to catch the ball without it touching the ground so that in the games they could bring back in a player that had been eliminated.
