As part of National Storytelling Week Ms Gormley and Ms O’Dowd organised a visit from the Armagh Rhymers. The group acted out and told Irish folklore stories and played some Irish songs, that we enjoyed participating in and singing along with.

We enjoyed a visit from Elaine and her friend, ‘Mini’ the monkey for a Halloween themed music workshop. Our workshop focused on developing our attention and listening skills through songs, actions and rhymes. As always we loved our visit and can’t wait for our next one! ✨
🍭🍬Roald Dahl Day 🍬🍭
Our focus for Roald Dahl Day was the story of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.’ Miss Vaughan read the description of Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory from Charlie’s point of view, when he first enters the factory and we visualised what this might look like. Next, we watched the video of Charlie entering the factory from the original movie, where Gene Wilder sings ‘Pure Imagination’ to compare with our own imagination. We then completed a number of activities based on the story including, designing our own chocolate bar wrappers, sorting sweets and making our own ‘everlasting gobstobbers!’ 🤩
🌟 First Days of School 🌟
We have had great fun meeting new friends and settling into St. Colmcille’s over the past week. Miss Vaughan has been very impressed with our bubbly and friendly natures. We have made many friends already and are enjoying exploring the many different areas our school has to offer.
