11.04.24 School Book Fair

The book fair has arrived! A lovely afternoon was spent at the book fair as we had the chance to browse through a range of beautiful books and stationary. We looked at factual books, fictional books, funny books, and we picked our class favourite to listen to at story time.

22.03.24 Easter Farm

We had some lovely furry visitors today and enjoys lots of outdoor fun. Some of the animals we saw at the farm  included alpacas, pigs, chicks, rabbits, and even tarantulas!

15.03.24 St. Patrick’s Day Celebrationsโ˜˜๏ธ

We dressed in green today and attended a green day disco to celebrate our Irish culture and our patron saint. There were lots of fun activities for us to participate in and we read the story of St.Patrick together as a class. Lá fhéile Pádraig sona duit!

07.03.24 World Book Day

We had lots of fun dressing up as our favourite book characters today for World Book Day. The celebrations began with a lovely visit from local author Charlie Graham, who read his wonderful book ‘The giraffe with the chocolate bellybutton’. We engaged in lots of activities including the creation of our own books on our school iPads.

09.02.24 Valentine’s Disco!

We put on our dancing shoes for the PTFA Valentines disco today. To celebrate we wore something red and enjoyed lots of yummy treats from the tuck shop. What a great way to finish up for the mid term break!

05.02.24 Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week

This year we celebrated the theme of ‘My Voice Matters’ for Children’s Mental Health Awareness week. To mark this special occasion we brought in something we are proud of to school. We each had an opportunity share and discuss our proudest moments and achievements with our friends and teachers. We have so many fantastic accomplishments!

09.11.23 Missing Monkey’s

We were lucky enough have a special guest visit our school today for some story telling. Local author Charlie Graham came to visit St.Colmcille's PS to share with us his new book, Missing Monkeys. We had a fantastic morning hearing the story and engaging in lots of fun actions directed by the author himself. Thank you Mr Graham!

27.10.23 Happy Halloween!

Spooky season was in full flow today as we prepared for Halloween. The PTFA arranged a fantastic Halloween disco for us to show off some of our dance moves and wonderful costumes. Our favourite part of the day was when Mr McKelvey surprised us and came back to St. Colmcille’s for the day to pay us a visit!

20.10.24 Parenting Week

We took time to show our appreciation for our amazing parents and adults at home. To mark this special occasion we made cards containing all of our favourite memories with our wonderful parents and adults. Your love and care for us means so much.
Thank you!

06.10.24 Trampoline Park Fun!

What a great day to be a pupil of St. Colmcille’s Primary School! We couldn’t keep the smiles off our faces as we tried out our new trampoline park. We spent a lovely afternoon jumping for joy, long may it continue!

05.10.23 National Poetry Day

We put our writing skills to the test today as we wrote our own poems for National Poetry day. This year’s theme was based around Refuge. As a class we decided to use an acrostic style format to create our poem. We ended up with some beautiful takes on the theme. No doubt we have some future poets on our hands!
