๐ฐ๐๐ World Book Day - Next Thursday ๐ฐ๐๐
Sat 02 Mar 2024World Book Day will take place on Thursday 7th March and we have some very exciting activities planned! We are inviting pupils to dress up as their favourite book character and bring in their favourite book to share with their classmates.
This year's theme is 'Read Your Way'. The theme calls on everyone to let go of pressure and expectations, giving children a choice - and a chance - to enjoy reading. To celebrate this year's theme we would love to discover how our pupils 'Read Their Way' at home. Do they have a reading nook? A special chair they like to cosy up in while reading their favourite book? A reading area in their bedroom? A reading den? Do they enjoy reading independently or with a family member? Maybe they prefer to read in the local library? Or in their garden on a sunny day? Please send a photo of your child 'Reading Their Way' at home, to their class teacher, before World Book Day.
We are really looking forward to celebrating World Book Day 2024 and dedicating a whole day to immersing ourselves in the amazing world of literature.

๐ณ๐ฅGold Award for St Colmcille's!๐ณ๐ฅ
Fri 01 Mar 2024We are very excited to have received the Gold Green Tree Schools award from the Woodland Trust. All children in school have participated in numerous activities and experiences to develop an understanding and enthusiasm for learning about trees, woods and wildlife. Throughout the project, pupils have taken part in fun, practical projects while helping the environment and improving our school grounds. The activities were completed in conjunction with our Eco Schools programme with a focus on the topics of School Grounds and Biodiversity.
As a school, our focus on outdoor learning is embedded throughout all areas of learning and we are very proud that the pupil’s hard work and enthusiasm has been rewarded with this award presented as a beautiful wooden plaque.
