• Gaelic blitz in Kilcoo

  Congratulations to the girls from P4 - P7 for the way in which they participated in the Gaelic blitz in Kilcoo today. All the girls thoroughly enjoyed their experience. Thanks to Miss Kerr and Mrs Oakes for taking the children. Don't forget girls the RGU are looking for more girls to join!

  

• Presentation to Cancer Fund for Children.

  Aisling Gibson, South Down Regional Fundraiser, for Cancer Fund for Children gave an assembly to the children today on the work of Daisy Lodge, Newcastle, and how the £513 raised by the children would be spent. Presenting Aisling with the cheque are Oisin O'Hare, Shannon McGarry, Taylor Kearney and Bryce Harper. Included is Mr Clifford, P7 Teacher.

• 'Earth Week' Competition Winners!

  Well done to our 'Earth Week' winners! The children were asked to make and design models out of old plastics and household items that focused on the theme of being 'Eco friendly'. Our winners were Oscar Manley, Ethan Rooney, Miley Keenan, Aoibheann Crothers, Orlaith Gregge, Aleesha Douglas, Jenny Kordys and Cora Fitzsimons. They are pictured with Eco Schools Co-ordinators, Miss Gemma Vaughan and Mrs Colleen O'Dowd.

• Sustrans Silver Mark Award

  I would like to congratulate Miss Vaughan and Mrs O'Dowd for leading the staff, pupils, parents and school community through the criteria for achieving the Sustrans School Silver award. Claire Lundy, from Sustrans, will present us with our certificate and plaque tomorrow.
