  • 💻🤩 Coding Club Final- ‘Judges’ Special Award’ Winners! 💻🤩

    Fri 22 Mar 2024

Our P7 Coding Club travelled to W5 LIFE on Thursday, to participate in the prestigious 2024 TechKnow Club Coding Final.

After many months of hard work in order to learn and develop various coding languages; Sophia, Poppy, Tristan and Thomas had to rebuild their website from scratch, under time pressure and under the watchful eye of the judges!

Our Coding Club performed remarkably well under such pressure and were able to fully rebuild their website in full working order, using HTML, CSS and JavaScript code. Our group then presented their website and code to the industry-expert judges, who were very impressed.

During the award ceremony, our group were ecstatic to hear ‘St. Colmcille’s Primary School’ being called out as the winners of the Judges’ Special Award! This award was presented to their group for the overall impression they made with the judges, with regards to their coding-skills, problem-solving, resilience, teamwork and enthusiasm towards the project.

An amazing and well-deserved reward for Sophia, Poppy, Tristan and Thomas, who represented their school with distinction. Well done!

  • ✝️🙏 Primary 3 Sacrament of Reconciliation ✝️🙏

    Fri 22 Mar 2024

Our Primary 3 children recently took part in their first Sacrament of Reconciliation. This was a very special day for our children as they reflected on their Baptism and had the opportunity to reflect on the choices they make. The children were well prepared to know that God is love and is always ready to forgive. The children displayed wonderful behaviour and reverence in the Church. Well done to all the boys and girls! A special thanks to Fr Murray, Fr Toland & Fr Henry for celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation with our pupils. Thank you also to Ms Morgan, Ms Curran, Ms O’Dowd and Ms Flanagan for preparing the pupils to receive the sacrament and also to Ms Fryer and our fantastic choir for the beautiful singing.

There have been a wide range of engaging, fascinating and mind-boggling experiments happening throughout the school, which presented excellent scientific learning opportunities to mark Science Week 2024!
