ππ National Poetry Day ππ
National Poetry Day is the annual mass celebration on the first Thursday of October that encourages everyone to make, experience and share poetry with family and friends. Each year we celebrate this day in St Colmcille’s because we recognise that poetry improves our pupils:
-language
-expression
-imagination
-self awareness
Well done to the P6 class who led our celebration in school with a special assembly which showcased the history of poetry and its significance in our everyday life through music, raps, riddle, jokes, sayings and limericks. It was great to see parents and family members in attendance to view. All of the other classes worked really hard and produced lovely poems around this year’s theme of refuge. Please see attached photos.
