Fairy Tales

This term we are reading and learning all about fairy tales. We discussed the fairy tales we know well and some children could retell a fairy tale in their own words. We had fun dressing up as different characters and saying well-known phrases. We loved making the houses of the three little pigs and then using a hairdryer to blow them down! We talked about the different materials and which materials are the strongest.

WALT: Create a paper craft skeleton

We have been learning about the human body. We looked at what goes on inside our bodies and we discussed the roles of the major organs, locating them on a display. We then had fun making paper chains to create our own paper craft skeleton.

Science of Sound

We had great fun this week exploring our senses as part of our Marvellous Me topic. Children were given a musical instrument to play and volunteers were blindfolded and had to point in the direction of the sound. We talked about how sound travels and how important it is to listen carefully. The boys and girls had great fun! It was also a great opportunity to explore some instruments which the children were unfamiliar with.

Marvellous ME

In our topic this term, we have been learning about how marvellous we all are! 😊 We read the book ‘Elmer’. This patchwork elephant taught us about inclusivity and friendship. We wrote about what makes us unique and special and we had fun creating our own unique elephants, just like Elmer.
