WALT: Recognise and count to the numbers 6+7
This week we have been focusing on the numbers 6 and 7. As part of it, we went to the outdoor learning area to count out loose parts to 6 and 7. Well done P1Aπ
WALT: Make ABAB patterns π‘π£π‘π£
This week, children were introduced to ABAB patterns. Children started their learning by identifying colour patterns on the board. To further the learning, children then went scavenging for loose parts. In our outdoor classroom, we then worked in groups to create loose part ABAB patterns. Children in P1A made fantastic patterns and displayed great teamwork and communication skills throughout the task. π
βοΈMATHS WEEKβοΈ
To celebrate maths week, children in P1A took part in a range of activities to develop their number skills:
1. Practical activities such as making number towers, matching numerical and pictorial representations of numbers and sorting games.
2. Outdoor learning activity where children had to find a certain amount of loose parts to match the number.
3. Mental maths competition where children went head to head to find the next number in the sequence.

This week, the focus was on the number 5βοΈ Children in P1A completed a range of multi sensory activities based on the number 5 and carried out activities based on numbers to 5.

This week, our focus has been on the number 3. Children had to sort the number 3 using numerical and pictorial representations of the number.
