Mental Health and National Storytelling Week
Today we listened to the story of the Love Monster. We talked about friendship and discussed ways that we can show we are a good friend. We talked about what makes us happy and some of us wrote about how we can show good friendship to others. We had fun making our own Love Monster.

Sensory Letters and Sounds
We had fun using a range of craft materials to make and say our sound of the week. We used pipe cleaners, sequences and buttons. This also helped improve our fine motor skills!
Goldilocks and the Three Bears
This week we listened to the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We enjoyed retelling and sequencing the story. We also made a porridge sensory tray which we used to read HFWs and find our sound of the week. We had great fun making our own porridge, measuring the ingredients and adding our own toppings so that it was ‘just right’.
Following Instructions
We have been reading the book ‘Pumpkin Soup’. We enjoyed retelling the story through sequencing and drama. Our favourite part was following instructions to make our own vegetable soup. We loved chopping, cutting and mixing the vegetables. It was very tasty!

WALT: Make predictions
This week we have been making predictions based on the information we have. We looked at the front cover and read the first page of Funny Bones. We described the beginning of the story as dark, scary and frightening. We thought of lots of dark, scary and frightening things and added them to our list of predictions.

Tricky words
We have been using Lego and cubes to help us remember the spelling for the tricky word ‘said’
