π³ WALT: explore the concept of addition through subitising π³
For this activity we were visualising the concept of addition through subitising by seeing two ‘parts’ and adding them together to make a ‘whole.’ For example, 3 is a part (fallen pegs) and 7 is a part (standing pegs), which makes 10 a whole.
WALT: recognise numbers within 20
β° WALT: read o’clock times on an analogue clock β°
πWAlT: sequence events in our day π
π’ WALT: recognise numbers within 10 π’
We have explored numbers within 10 by printing and painting the numbers, along with consolidating our ability to read the numbers and count sets.
π³WALT: Order numbers within 10 π³
We took our ‘number flips’ outside to our outdoor classroom and spent time ordering them correctly. Miss Vaughan asked us to close our eyes and she took a number away. We had to use our fingers to show the correct amount.
π¨WALT: sort by colour π¨
We listened to a story called, ‘What Makes a Rainbow’ and explored the different colours through a number of activities. We finished off with a practical sorting by colour activity.
