Ethos, Vision, Aims & Values

Ethos

At St Colmcille’s Primary School the Catholic Faith is not only taught, but also nurtured and reflected in the daily life of the school. The Faith, we uphold, should underlie every relationship so that all are respected and loved as children of God.

In our school, children are encouraged to recognise God’s love for us all. We believe that the school, in partnership with parents, parish and the local community should:

- provide children with a deeper understanding of their Catholic Faith
- provide children with a fulfilment of their academic potential
- prepare the children for their role as citizens of the future

Vision

Our vision for St Colmcille’s PS reflects a passionate commitment to learning and recognition of the uniqueness of individual learners. We are driven by a desire to provide a modern and high-quality education for the children under our care- in full partnership with parents and the local community. We believe our approach will unlock the potential within the children and fully prepare them to happy, successful and effective contributors to society & contributors to the economy and environment. Our vision and aims meet with Article 6 from the Rights of the Child which states we must do all that we can to ensure that children survive and develop to their full potential.

Aims

Our aims are thus:
