Anti-Bullying Week - November 2024

From 11th – 15th November 2024, P3A took part in Anti-Bullying Week. Our school had a fantastic time celebrating the theme 'Choose Respect'. First, we participated in ‘Odd Socks Day’ where we came to school wearing a pair of odd socks. This highlighted our differences and what makes us unique. Next, in PE, we expressed the word "RESPECT" with our bodies. We formed letters together and laughed as we tried to bend and curl our bodies to create the correct letters. Then, we made a brilliant video all about choosing respect. Everyone contributed ideas, and we worked together to record our parts. We took turns speaking about why respect is important. It was wonderful to see our creativity come alive on the screen. After that, we participated in drama scenarios where we acted out different situations. We pretended to be in a playground, showing how to stand up to bullying. It was very exciting!

Finally, we created an Anti-Bullying mural. We drew our ideas and colourful designs onto a huge strip of paper, all focused on respect. The mural was fantastic, and it made our classroom feel even more welcoming. It was a great way to end our week with fun and teamwork.

Overall, Anti-Bullying Week was amazing, and I can’t wait for what we will do next year!

🧦 Odd Socks Day 🧦

As part of Anti-Bullying week we celebrated our individuality and the things that make us all unique by wearing odd socks to school. We discussed the special talents we had and the things we were good at. We agreed to ‘choose respect’ when it comes to recognising difference. πŸ’•

Halloween Disco

To end Term 1 in style, our school hosted the highly anticipated Halloween Disco, and it was a spook-tacular event! The atmosphere was electric as pupils arrived in their fantastic fancy dress outfits, transforming the hall into a vibrant display of witches, ghosts, and ghouls.

The air was filled with the pulsating beats of eerie music, getting everyone in the mood to dance. P3A happily led a conga line providing lots of laughter and excitement.

Of course, no disco would be complete without a tuck shop! Sweet treats and delights were plentiful, with children eagerly purchasing everything from yummy snacks to fizzy drinks. The school’s Halloween shop, run by Primary 7, added an extra layer of fun, offering unique decorations and goodies.

It truly was a memorable day, filled with joy, creativity, and a hint of Halloween magic!

National Poetry Day

European Day of Languages

There are 24 official languages in Europe but adding in regional and minority languages, the total number spoken across the continent is over 200. On 26 September, European Day of Languages, we celebrate the range and diversity of languages spoken throughout Europe by celebrating the languages spoken in your school.

P3A learnt lots of ways to welcome and greet others in different languages. At the end of the day the pupils voted for their favourite language to say 'Hello'. The most popular way was 'Ciao'.

Roald Dahl Day

On 13th September the world celebrated Roald Dahl Day! The birthday of the author of many unforgettable works of fiction, including The BFG, The Twits, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fantastic Mr Fox and Matilda.

Dahl Day is an occasion to acknowledge the enormous influence of Dahl’s books on encouraging an early love of words and reading. Dahl taught us that it’s okay to be different, appearances can be deceiving, and a person who has good thoughts can never be ugly. P3A celebrated this special occasion by making Willy Wonka inspired chocolate canes, designing a chocolate factory from construction materials, creating a brand-new chocolate bar and calculating the price of a selection of sweet treats. We had a fantastic day!
