ππNational Poetry Day ππ
On 3rd October, St Colmcilles celebrated National Poetry Day which takes place every year on the first Thursday of October. This year's theme was ‘Counting’, a powerful message reminding us that our thoughts and feelings are important and that they ‘count’.
Our pupils discovered that poetry is not just about rhymes and rhythms; it is an opportunity for us to communicate our hopes and dreams in ways that everyday language sometimes cannot capture. Poetry allows us to connect with others, understand ourselves better and see the world through different eyes.
We had a fantastic day celebrating National Poetry Day. We will try our best to keep the spirit of poetry alive every day, and who knows—perhaps one of our pupils will be the next great poet of Ireland!
