Recently at St. Colmcille’s, we celebrated Earth Week, beginning with Earth Day and a special assembly on this year’s theme of ‘Invest in our Earth.’ Throughout the week, children were encouraged to invest in their Earth by travelling to school actively, participating in lessons outdoors and caring for the environment. In class, they completed lessons developing our awareness of the impact humans have on the Earth and what we can do to help to minimise the impact and invest in our Earth. At the end of the week, an Eco Champion was chosen and celebrated in assembly. These pupils were active in their learning this week and promoted awareness of how to care for the environment and world around them.
