๐ถ๐พCanine Therapy ๐พ๐ถ
We are very lucky to have the amazing ADNI trained Heidi in our school to provide canine therapy for our pupils, led by our very own Ms Fitzpatrick.
Canine therapy enhances children’s emotional, social, and cognitive development.
Dogs have an innate ability to sense and respond to human emotions, making Heidi ideal for working with children with social or emotional difficulties. She helps children to build trust, develop empathy, and form healthy emotional connections.
Participating in group activities with Heidi allows children to develop social skills including communication, empathy and respect for others.
Cognitive sessions with Heidi have also been designed to reinforce learning that the children are doing within their class and children are encouraged to use numeracy and literacy skills throughout the sessions such as measuring, problem solving and reading.
