WAU
Miss Reynold's introduced P4A to their new WAU topic today. They had to use their senses to explore items hidden in a sack to guess what they would be learning about! They were able to work out that they would be exploring 'Oceans!' They then worked together to complete a KWL grid to decide what they would like to learn about oceans and how they would like to learn! They also shared some ocean facts they already knew!
This week P4A put their team work, problem solving and creativity to the test! They were tasked with making a survival backpack for an explorer in the Polar Regions! They had to work together to make their backpacks out of junk material! They did a fantastic job!
P4A have been learning about changing states of matter and the impact global warming is having on our Polar Regions. They took part in a fun experiment to investigate the fastest way to melt ice!
P4A took part in an exciting experiment to investigate how Polar animals keep warm! They made some predictions before they completed it and also made sure it was a fair test! They learned that Polar animals use blubber to help insulate them from the cold!
P4A have been learning about Polar Animals and created tonal polar bear art to develop their digital design skills using Brushes Redux App.
P4A have been learning about The Artic Circle and Antarctica as part of their new topic, βPolar Regions and Animals!β They identified the polar region on a globe, locating the South and North Pole. They then worked collaboratively to create a map to show the polar regions using tissue paper!
