⭐️ Children’s Mental Health Week ⭐️

The theme for this year is Know Yourself, Grow Yourself.

We have been chatting about what mental health means and what we can do when we feel different emotions. We talked about how it is ok to feel all of the emotions but if those emotions are taking over and we feel angry or sad all day then we need to chat to an adult to help us feel better.

One of our favourite ways to feel refreshed and energised when we feel tired or sluggish is to have a brain break. Take a look at the video to see our brain break in action!

πŸ‘« Resilience and Teamwork Skills πŸ‘

We have been working on resilience and teamwork skills during our PE sessions.

We noticed that sometimes it can be difficult when others win and that can make us sad, we have been working on celebrating other’s achievements and accepting that we may not always win games even when we really want to. We have also been working on conflict management when playing games and ensuring everyone has a turn.

🎁 Cash for Kids: Mission Christmas 🎁

As we have been learning about toys in our World Around Us topic we decided to choose 3 toys to donate to Cash for Kids Mission Christmas appeal. Cash for Kids believe that every child, no matter their circumstances, deserves to feel the wonder and excitement of Christmas so they have a toy appeal every year to help those who in need ensure every child has a present under their tree. Cash for Kids explained on social media recently they are low in presents for children aged 18-24 months so we decided to focus on this age bracket for our gifts. Using toy catalogues we choose a number of potential gifts and then Mrs Cassidy went off to try and find these toys in the shops. Our gifts will now be dropped off at a Mission Christmas location ready to go to the Cash for Kids warehouse in time for Christmas deliveries.

✝️ The Rosary ✝️

As October is the month of Mary we have been learning about the Rosary. We discussed what each bead represents and how we use Rosary Beads to pray. Using materials we created our own Rosary beads ensuring we had all the necessary beads representing the prayers.

πŸ‘« Friendly or Unfriendly? πŸ‘«

We have been working very hard this week on what makes a good friend. We sorted cards into friendly and unfriendly actions and then we had a class discussion on ways we could be friendly and what actions we should avoid as they are unfriendly. We have had a great time together in our first weeks of P3 and we are fantastic friends!
