Dodgeball- Exploring controlled throwing and catching

This week in PE, P7 have been exploring their throwing technique and catching strategies, in relation to their PE unit of Dodgeball.
Success at Down Netball
Friday 2nd May
The Primary 7s from Down Netball participated in a Netball NI tournament in Antrim in March. They played 12 matches and won every single game, scoring over 40 goals in the process and being the top scoring team. Because of this success, the team were awarded the trophy recently. well done to Rosie, Elle-Mae, Branna and Renae on their success!
Stomp Dance Routines

As part of our PE topic of 'Stomp Dance', P7 used a variety of everyday items to create rhythm as part of a dance routine!
Dodgeball movements
Thursday 30th January
As part of our PE topic of ‘Dodgeball’, today P7 explored key game movements such as duck, jump, pivot and turns, through a series of game-based activities and challenges.
Developing Pace
Thursday 7th November
As part of Primary 7's PE topic of Athletics, the boys and girls in class explored the role of pacing in long runs and how to work as a group to help each other pace. Great work P7!
Sprint finishes!
Monday 14th October
To begin our new unit of learning on Athletics, pupils today explored the sprinting run, working on the most effective technique to sprint and improve speed.
Side stepping into our Tennis lessons!
Thursday 5th September
Today in Primary 7, we undertook our learning in relation to Tennis, which will take place over the next series of weeks. Today, we focused on the importance of side-stepping, as well as using our left and right sides to control and return a serve ball. A great start to our new topic of Tennis!
