World Book Day 2025, set for Thursday 6th March, promises to be an exciting occasion filled with a variety of engaging activities designed to foster a love of reading among our pupils. 

This year, we are particularly thrilled to announce the launch of the first St Colmcilles Giving Library, encouraging the sharing and enjoyment of books. In addition to this new initiative, we will host both whole class and individual competitions, aimed at inspiring creativity and enthusiasm for storytelling. 

A highlight of the day will be the opportunity for pupils to dress up as their favourite book characters, allowing them to immerse themselves in their literary worlds and express their passion for reading. This year’s theme, "Read Your Way!", empowers young readers to explore the vast world of books by allowing them to choose how and what they want to read. Our objective at St Colmcilles is to cultivate a genuine enjoyment of reading and support the development of a lifelong interest in books. We eagerly anticipate the joy and excitement that World Book Day 2025 will bring, dedicating an entire day to honouring the power of literature in our lives.
