Throughout the school year we have been extremely fortunate to have had Aurla Ward devote time each week to participate in the ‘Time to Read’ Programme with some of the Primary 4 boys.

‘Time to Read’ is a volunteering initiative developed by Business in the Community Northern Ireland (BITCNI). The Department for the Economy, for whom Aurla works has participated in ‘Time to Read’ for the last number of years and due to its success intends to participate again in the next academic year.

Local volunteers like Aurla come into school to read on a one-to-one basis with a small group of children, fostering a love for reading, supporting their progress, encouraging confidence and developing social skills.

Many thanks to Aurla for making our first year of being involved with the initiative so successful and we are delighted to welcome her back again in September.
