St Colmcille's will be celebrating National Storytelling Week from February 1st to February 9th, 2025. This annual event is a great opportunity for our pupils to explore the magic of stories and develop their literacy skills.

Theme: This year's theme is "Reimagine Your World". We encourage students to think creatively about the world around them and to find inspiration in everyday moments.

Activities: Throughout the week, we have planned a variety of storytelling activities, including:
Storytelling Sessions: Author Tim Bailie will visit our school to share his favourite books.
Creative Writing Workshops: Pupils will have the chance to write and share their own stories.
Mental Health Support: Pupils will be encouraged to read books/stories which focus on children being unique, having special talents, being different, overcoming obstacles or worries, having courage etc.

How You Can Help:

Read Together: Spend some time reading with your child and discussing the stories.
Encourage Creativity: Help your child come up with their own stories and characters.
Participate: If you have a favorite story to share, please let us know! 
We believe that storytelling is a powerful tool for learning, imagination and improving mental health & we look forward to a week filled with creativity and fun.
