Fri 22 Oct 2021Staff members of St. Colmcille’s PS recently took part in a sponsored football match at Ballymote Sports & Wellbeing Centre, raising £750 towards the Cash for Kids Schools Challenge. Well done to all those who participated and thank you to all who contributed towards sponsorship for this event!

๐ Gaelic Tournament ๐
Fri 22 Oct 2021P7 girls and boys enjoyed participating in a Gaelic football tournament earlier this week. It has been quite some time since the pupils last had the opportunity to take part in a tournament, which made the day all the more exciting. Thanks to St. Nicholas’ PS for inviting our teams! We look forward to more sporting events throughout the year to come!

๐ Pumpkin Competition ๐
Thu 21 Oct 2021We ended our Spooktacular Event with a Pumpkin Competition, with each class designing their own Halloween Pumpkin. These were all left in the School Hall for a mystery judge to carry out the difficult task of picking a winner. There were so many fantastic and creative entries that we couldn’t choose just one!

๐๐ Autumn Art Workshop ๐๐
Thu 21 Oct 2021Our Primary 3 & Primary 4 classes were treated to a special Art workshop, delivered by one of our very talented parents, Melissa Keenan! The pupils created their own Autumn wreaths from natural materials they had gathered on an Autumn walk over the past week. This was a great addition to today’s Spooktacular Event and the P3 & P4 pupils were really proud of their final piece.

Thu 21 Oct 2021Today the pupils celebrated Halloween in style, with lots of fun art and craft activities, Halloween movies and a Spooky Trail with lots of sweets and treats. Thank you to all our parents, families and the whole school community for their generosity in raising funds for this event in aid of our Cash for Kids Schools Challenge! Thank you also to our magnificent PTFA, for planning and setting up this event and as always working hard to create wonderful memories and experiences for our pupils!

๐ฌ๐ฟ๐ฐ Tuck Shop & Cake Sale ๐ฌ๐ฟ๐ฐ
Sat 16 Oct 2021Our amazing PTFA raised over £1000 with their Tuck Shop at break time and after school Cake Sale yesterday! The pupils enjoyed their treats throughout the day and all funds raised will go towards the Cash for Kids Schools Challenge. Thank you to the PTFA for organising these hugely successful events and to all in our school community who contributed!

Sun 10 Oct 2021Our new music tuition sessions have been hugely popular, with many pupils taking up and enjoying guitar and violin lessons. We hope to offer these lessons out to more pupils in the following school terms. At the moment, there is 1 violin tuition place remaining. ๐ง๐ฐ Bake Sale Success๐ง๐ฐ
Sat 09 Oct 2021Thank you to Grace (P7), who organised a fantastic bake sale after school yesterday with delicious scones, buns, baked treats and sweet cones. Grace’s stall was sold out in a matter of minutes and raised an amazing £650 for our Cash for Kids School Challenge. Thank you to Grace, her mum Roisin and Cheryl of our PTFA for all their hard work with this fundraiser.
