To celebrate Earth Week and as part of our topic on 'Oceans' P4A created some Earth pictures using salt painting!
Some examples of persuasive adverts P4A completed to encourage tourism in our local seaside town, Newcastle. They used Adobe Express on their iPads and worked with their learning partner.
P4A have been using a range of materials to create some ocean art and develop their creativity!
P4A completed ‘The Blubber Experiment’ for science week to investigate how whales and seals keep warm in cold water! Great fun was had by all!
To introduce their new topic 'Our Oceans' P4A completed a jigsaw challenge with their learning partners to put together a map of our oceans!
P4A worked in groups to design and create survival backpacks for the Artic!
P4A created tonal pictures of polar bears in the Arctic using the app 'Brushes Redux'
P4A showed of their creative skills by making 3D Polar Bears!
P4A worked collaboratively in teams to complete a STEAM challenge of building an igloo using marshmallows and spaghetti! They all demonstrated wonderful team working and problem solving skills!

As part of their topic, 'Celebrations' P4A took part in a Christmas craft workshop to make some traditional Christmas decorations!
P4A enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year as part of their topic on celebrations! They had a go at making some Chinese lanterns!
P4A matched celebrations from around the world to the right country on a map as an introduction to their new topic, 'Celebrations.'
P4A had a very special visit from representatives of our local Finnebrogue on Wednesday. This was part of their World Around Us topic 'Healthy Lifestyles.' They talked to P4 about their products, how they make them healthier, where the products come from and how to store and cook them properly. P4 were even given some delicious sandwiches to sample and got to take some tasty treats home as well! Thank you to Finnebrogue for coming to visit P4 and sharing your knowledge and expertise with us!
P4A have been studying the artiest Giuseppe Arcimboldo and recreated one of his famous paintings by creating potraits using fruit and vegetables!
P4A had great fun this week learning about the ingredients in our food and using Carroll and Venn diagrams to sort it!
P4A have been learning about eating a balanced and healthy diet and the benefits for our health. They created some healthy dinner plates using their knowledge of the food groups and what is nutritious for our body.
P4A worked with their learning partners to create persuasive posters to encourage everyone to adopt a healthy lifestyle! They used Adobe Express to design and create their posters after researching collaboratively what makes an effective persausive poster/advert. Please enjoy viewing a few examples of their hard work!
