Phonics practical learning - or sound variations
Synonyms - Field Trip to the Moon! Today we read the story 'Field Trip to the Moon.' We then used a thesaurus to find words with similar meanings to words in the story! It was a great change for us to practice alphabetically order and to extend our vocabulary!

Instructional Writing - As part of our instructional writing this term Primary 3 had a go a making some jam sandwiches! We talked about the correct sequence needed to make the sandwich and we also discussed some ‘bossy verbs’ that we could use. We loved this activity and even got to eat the sandwiches at the end!
A Squash and a Squeeze - today we worked in groups to explore a characters thoughts and feelings as the story progressed.
Word building / blending - This week we revised blending CVC, CVCC and CCVC words! We had great fun completing our activities! Have a look at how we got on!
VIPERS - A Squash and a Squeeze - Our focus book for literacy this week was ‘A Squash and a Squeeze.’ We enjoyed listening to and discussing the features of this story and we also learnt some new vocabulary! We particularly enjoyed the end of of the story when the little old lady was ‘full of frolics and fiddle-de-dees!’
