Easter Inference ๐Ÿฅš๐Ÿฐ

Primary Two had to put their detective hats on this week as they used their inference skills to determine which mischievous character stole our Easter Eggs. Primary two were provided with some clues about the event and then had to use their existing knowledge to infer who the suspect was. The children did such a fantastic job and everyone worked together to uncover that the cheeky chick was the culprit! ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿชบ

Using digital art to explore describing words!

This week P2 enjoyed using their ICT skills to create a Pic Collage  with lots of describing words to describe a chosen setting. The boys and girls worked incredibly well together to design, edit and create their posters. Well done!

Primary Two had so much fun this week engaging in World Book Day activities relating to one of our favourite authors Julia Donaldson. The children created their very own paper dolls, explored the library like Detective Dog and made some delicious and prickly Gruffalo buns! The children had so much fun dressing up and appreciating some of our all time favourite books! ๐Ÿ“š

Check out all the fantastic activity based learning that the children took part in relating to the Ch, Sh and Th digraphs. Some of the activities included forming the ch digraph with chocolate playdough and exploring the sh sound with shaving foam. Such hard work by all!

This week the children learned all about the importance of capital letters! We know that we use capital letters for the start of a sentence and for proper nouns (like our names!) The children completed some fantastic worth matching the uppercase letters to the lowercase letters. Miss Walsh made the activity extra challenging by encouraging the children to pick up the letters with our tweezers! This helps to build important skills for writing.

The sandwich is dropped, squashed and slithered over by everyone from a squirrel, to a fox, to a group of slugs. Feeling inspired by our shared reading text, P2 decided to take themselves outside with their partner and make a disgusting sandwich to rival the stories. The children presented their disgusting sandwich to the class and verbally gave instructions on how to make the sandwich. P2 also used an impressive range of describing words to explain their sandwich such as, revolting, gross and hideous! We wonder if the badger would like a bit of some of our sandwiches?  ๐Ÿฅช
