Literacy

Todayโ€™s lesson looked at changing the ending of the Three Little Pigs story to a more modern version. We used animation to show this through Flip a Clip. The animations were of a very high standard and showed the skills of pupils in this area.

Reinforcing our work on letters, high frequency words and letter sounds.

Today we had a special visit from author Charlie Graham who talked about his life and being an author. He then read his new book - The Giraffe with the Chocolate Bellybutton.

For our talking and listening task we created an invention using our imagination. We then had to talk about our invention describing it, telling the class what it does as well as persuading people in the class to buy it. Every pupil showed great confidence to present their work in front of the class.

To continue our work on our clip โ€˜Dangleโ€™ we looked at using animation to show the key events of the clip. The pupils produced amazing pieces of animation and really showed their high level of skill in this area.

We have started to look at a new clip called โ€˜Dangleโ€™. The pupils had to use Minecraft to design a way to stop people touching the rope that was dangling from the sky.

Exploring how to make lists using commas.

To reinforce our work on adjectives we used the school grounds to go on an adjective hunt to find describing words linked to our class book.

Using our comprehension film clip - Little Boat, to improve our word processing skills.

Reinforcement of our high frequency words.

Working on our high frequency words and sounds using magnetic letters.
