Using persuasive techniques - 10.01.24

Today P7B had a look at examples of advertisements and discussed what made them

effective. We also used our understanding of persuasive writing techniques to create our own fictional advertisements based on what we have learned from our previous topic (The Titanic.) Using our ICT skills we used Adobe Express to make our advertisements bright and attractive.

Familiarising ourselves with the key features of persuasive writing - 05.01.2024

Today P7B explored different examples of persuasive texts and advertisements in further detail. We began by looking at writing examples and analysed what we thought was positive and perhaps what we could improve. We then did the same for examples of video advertisements and focused on who they were targeted at and what techniques were used to make them persuasive.

During this task P7B were able to recognise and highlight key features of persuasive text such as powerful adjectives, rhetorical questions and supportive facts and evidence.
