Outdoor Learning

WALT represent an amount as a fraction. The boys and girls enjoyed problem solving in the sun this week as they were tasked with working out what fraction of the cars were certain colours. This was a great way to kick start our learning on fractions!

Big Schools Birdwatch! P5/6 loved scanning our grounds for birds this week as part of the Big Schools Birdwatch. We were blown away but how many birds we saw and all different kinds on top. Check out our photos!

WALT sort data using Venn Diagrams. The pupils sorted items, including items found around our school grounds, into Venn Diagrams.

P5/6 enjoyed testing out paper aeroplanes this week, seeing who could keep their plane in the air the longest. We discussed the factors at play, including the shape of the plane, the weather and the throwing technique. Then when back in class we discussed how we could find the average of the data we had collected.

Check out our class planter! Weโ€™ve worked hard to tidy up our planter and the pupils were keen to decorate the planter with some of their work based on our class novel, โ€˜The Butterfly Lionโ€™.
