P5/6 enjoyed the Easter Fun day where they learnt about animals, including parrots, turtles, rabbits and lizards! They also got creative and made fantastic Easter decorations.

WALT develop our knowledge and understanding of Vikings. P5/6 loved the Power Project task and some of their creations were incredible! Topics covered included food, travel, weapons, houses, jobs clothes and appearance. Check out the photos to see the great work!
WALT carry out an investigation. As part of science week P5/6 carried out an extremely fun (and tasty!) investigation. The pupils wanted to find out which biscuit was most durable and were surprised by the results. The pupils considered variables and how to carry out a fair test. Mysteriously, the left over biscuits disappeared...
WALT understand what it takes to be a professional athlete. P5/6 were very fortunate to attend a webinar hosted by the Nerve Centre and delivered by the Manchester United Foundation. The webinar looked firstly at the history of United before exploring what it takes to become an elite athlete. It fitted in well with our topic, The Human Body. The boys and girls really enjoyed the material and who knows, maybe we have an elite athlete or two in the making in our class!
WALT consider ways that can help us stay calm. To mark Children’s Mental Health Week we had a fantastic art workshop that gave us tips on mindfully completing art tasks in school and at home.
WALT understand how to keep our body healthy. Our third and final Chester’s Challenge took place this week and the pupils had a wonderful time, learning about strategies for keeping our bodies healthy. They learned about energy drinks and the dangers they possess. They also learnt about the importance of sleep and stretching.
WALT how to keep our bodies healthy through healthy eating. P5/6 have been very lucky to have Chest, Heart and Stroke in our class providing us with healthy eating workshops. The workshops have been interactive, with each pupil having a device to provide individual feedback and answers to questions on their learning. The pupils have learnt about the Eatwell Guide and focussed on the components of a healthy diet.
WALT develop our knowledge on the human body. The boys and girls enjoyed creating the Skelton using cotton buds. Next they’ll label the organs before learning more about how each one functions.

WALT understand ways to improve our physical health. P5/6 have enjoyed the beginning of their new topic - The Human Body. They completed a special Minecraft challenge of creating an indoor place where they could do things that would improve their physical health. It was great fun and the pupils created some brilliant spaces.
Christmas Craft Fun! P5/6 loved Mrs Henderson’s Christmas Craft workshop this week and took home some beautiful trees and decorations. Thank you to Mrs Henderson for sharing her expertise with us, it was great fun!
