WALT: Convert Analogue to 24 time

This week we have been exploring the link between analogue and 24 clocks and the correlation between a.m and p.m and adding 12 hours on for 24 times. P5 played some loop card games and completed a hunt to find the matching clocks.

P5 have been exploring fractions this week. We have looked at how fractions need to be equal amounts of something.

100 Days of School- we celebrated 100 days of school by exploring the number 100, solving 100 square number puzzles and being creative by seeing what could be made using exactly 100 pieces.

P5 have been solving money problems through the use of practical resources.

Outdoor leaning using maths boxes.

Right angle hunt.

WALT: understand how to divide numbers to 100 by grouping equipment.

WALT: subtract numbers across 0s.

P5 have been enjoying the activities with maths week Ireland this week.

P5 have been doing some outdoor learning this week hunting for 2D and 3D shapes around the school.

WALT: measure objects using mm, cm and m.

We spent some time measuring different objects around the school, using rulers and metre sticks and considering which measurement is most appropriate.

WALT: order numbers up to 6 digits.

We have been ordering numbers practically and have linked our numeracy learning to Roald Dahl day by helping the Twits to work out which day has the most birds for their pies.
