On Thursday 24th March, the Primary 5/6 and Primary 6 classes went to W5 in Belfast to explore exhibits based on their World Around Us topic; Inventors and Inventions. They completed a workshop called ‘Marvellous Machines’ and had to design and build a machine that could move a load from one point to another. The boys and girls used K’nex and worked in small groups to create machines before testing them out in the race area. Each group was able to move their load across the finish line successfully! After the workshop, there was some time to explore Levels 2 and 4. Some of the favourite exhibits explored were pulley systems, springs, levers, magnets, visual effects and the physics of flight.
