WALT: Identify people who help us and understand how they support our community.
In PDMU, we learned about the many people who help us in our school and local community. Miss Smith showed us a PowerPoint about different jobs, and the children enjoyed taking part in a quiz where they had to decide which person could help in different situations.
The children had great fun at the role-play area, dressing up as people who help us and using stick puppets to act out different scenarios. We also discussed the jobs we might like to do when we grow up and shared our ideas with the class.
A favourite activity was the feely box challenge, where the children had to guess which item belonged to a particular helper. For example, a bandage belonged to a doctor, and a police car belonged to a police officer. We also enjoyed colouring pictures of different people who help us.
It was a fun and engaging lesson that helped the children learn about the important roles people play in keeping us safe, healthy, and happy, while encouraging them to think about their own future aspirations. ⭐🚑👮♂️👩🚒👨⚕️
