WALT: Sort objects into groups using different criteria.

We had lots of fun becoming sorting experts during our numeracy lesson! The children explored different ways to sort objects by looking carefully at their features and deciding which group they belonged in.

Using colourful pom poms, we sorted by colour, placing each pom pom into the correct matching box. We also sorted shapes into the correct groups and compared objects to sort them into big and small categories.

To develop our thinking skills even further, we sorted pictures into animals and non-animals, discussing why each item belonged in its group.

These practical activities helped the children develop their sorting, observation, and mathematical language skills while learning through play. We had a fantastic time investigating, comparing, and organising different objects! 🔍🌟😊
