WALT: Develop our pre-writing skills by practising circular movements.

We had great fun exploring our pre-writing shape, the circle, through activities linked to the nursery rhyme Hot Cross Buns. The children used Play-Doh to make delicious-looking buns with cherries on top and practised circular movements as they stirred and mixed "buns" using wooden spoons.

In our sensory tuff tray, we drew circles in flour using our fingers and revisited the pre-writing shapes we have learned in previous lessons. We also enjoyed mark-making activities, drawing currant buns with cherries on top and filling purses with coins by practising our circle shapes.

These engaging, hands-on activities helped the children develop the control and movements needed for early writing while making learning fun and meaningful. 🎵✏️🍒⭕😊
