Our P3 class worked together to create our very own Pokémon-themed Class Charter! First, we voted for our favourite theme and Pokémon was the clear winner, beating Minecraft and LEGO.

Next, we learned about children's rights and discussed which articles were most important for our classroom. After lots of thoughtful discussion, we voted to include Article 2 (Non-Discrimination), Article 12 (Respect for Children's Views), Article 19 (Protection from Harm), Article 29 (Goals of Education) and Article 31 (Rest, Play and Leisure).

To make our charter extra special, the children designed and decorated their own unique Poké Balls to display alongside our rights and responsibilities. Everyone showed great creativity and imagination when creating their designs!

Together, we agreed on how we can respect these rights every day in our classroom. As rights holders, the children made promises about how they will treat others, and as duty bearers, the adults agreed to help make sure everyone feels safe, included, respected and listened to.

Our Class Charter reminds us that, just like a great Pokémon team, we can achieve more when we work together, support one another and show kindness every day! ⭐🎮⚡
