Journey Through the Great Fire of London!
P3 have been learning about the key events of the Great Fire of London. To begin our lesson, we watched a video and discussed the timeline of events together, helping us to understand how the fire started, spread and was eventually brought under control.
The children then applied their learning through a range of activities. Some pupils worked in pairs to sequence the main events of the Great Fire of London, carefully discussing each stage and placing them in the correct order. Other children reinforced their understanding through colour-by-number activities, pencil control tasks and cut-and-stick pictures linked to the events of 1666.
These activities helped the children to develop their understanding of chronology and recall important facts about the Great Fire of London. It was wonderful to see the children working collaboratively, sharing their ideas and growing in confidence as young historians. 🔥🏠⭐
