Adding Single-Digit Numbers

P3 have been developing their addition skills by adding single-digit numbers to make totals up to 10, 20 and 50 through a range of practical and engaging activities.

The children used cubes to build number towers, creating one tower for each number before combining them to find the total. Other groups practised their addition facts through colour-by-number activities and fun addition board games. Some pupils challenged themselves by rolling two dice, adding the numbers together and recording their totals, helping to strengthen their mental maths skills. Children also accessed Mathletics, where they completed interactive addition activities tailored to their learning needs.

Throughout the lesson, the children demonstrated excellent number skills, perseverance and enthusiasm as they explored addition through hands-on learning experiences. It was wonderful to see so much mathematical thinking and problem-solving taking place in the classroom! ➕🎲🏗️⭐
