P3 have been developing their phonics, reading and word-building skills through a range of engaging indoor and outdoor activities.

Outside, the children enjoyed building words using a variety of practical resources and worked together to identify sounds before blending them to read the completed word. Inside the classroom, they used sound cubes, sound boards and other phonics resources to build and decode words. Some pupils challenged themselves to sort real and nonsense words by carefully reading and blending the sounds, while others strengthened their reading skills through activities on Reading Eggs.

These hands-on activities helped the children to develop their confidence in recognising sounds, blending words and applying their phonics knowledge in different contexts. It was fantastic to see such enthusiasm for learning and so much active participation throughout the week!
