In Primary 5, we have been reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Today, we read Chapter 6, which focuses on the children discovering the five Golden Tickets. We used this as a great opportunity for some role play, exploring the thoughts, feelings, and emotions of the characters when they find their tickets.

The class was split into small groups, with each group given a different scene to act out. One group pretended to be a child finding a Golden Ticket in a shop, while another acted as Charlie showing his ticket to his grandparents. A third group imagined finding a ticket in the dinner hall, and another took on the role of news reporters, interviewing Charlie on camera after his discovery. Our final group got creative, pretending to be robbers breaking into a shop to steal Wonka bars in the hope of finding a ticket!
