We have been familiarising ourselves with discursive writing. As part of this, today’s activity involved pupils sorting ‘for’ and ‘against’ arguments. They were given the question, “Should children have to wear school uniforms?” and worked collaboratively in groups to organise the different viewpoints.

This helped them to understand how balanced arguments are presented and how to consider both sides of a topic.
