Today in P5A we explored what it really means to multiply by 1 and by 0. Using practical materials, the pupils investigated how multiplying by 1 simply creates one group of the original amount, helping them see that the number stays the same. They also used concrete items to model multiplying by 0, discovering that zero groups of any quantity always results in nothing. This hands‑on approach helped the children develop a clear and confident understanding of these important multiplication rules.
