Our Primary 5 pupils have been exploring how to convert kilometres into metres as part of their numeracy work. They learned that 1 kilometre equals 1,000 metres, and used this knowledge to solve real-life problems, such as working out the distance from school to local landmarks. To make learning fun and interactive, pupils also took part in a matching activity where they had to find another classmate with an equivalent measurement to their own. This hands-on approach helped reinforce understanding and encouraged teamwork while building confidence in applying maths beyond the classroom.
