Km and m Practical

Today in P5A, we explored the concepts of kilometres and metres as part of our learning about units of measurement. We discovered that length can be measured in different ways, including millimetres, centimetres, metres, and kilometres. We discussed when each unit would be most appropriate and the tools we would use to measure them. To put our learning into practice, we measured a variety of items around the classroom—our thumbs, shoe sizes, the length of a door, and our desks. We also had fun estimating distances in kilometres, such as how far it is from our school to Asda, and even from Downpatrick to Paris!
