Today in P5A, we read the first chapter of our class novel 'The Worst Witch.' In this opening chapter, the author introduces the setting of Miss Cackle’s Academy for Witches — “perched on the top of a high mountain and surrounded by a pine forest. It looked more like a prison than a school…” After reading, we worked in pairs to explore the sensory details of the setting. We discussed what we might see, touch, hear, smell, and taste if we were standing outside the academy.
