WALT: Stay safe around fireworks and at Halloween. 🎆🎃

We learned all about firework and Halloween safety during a fun and interactive lesson. Miss Smith showed us a safety PowerPoint, and we discussed important ways to stay safe around fireworks, bonfires, and when trick-or-treating. At the end of the lesson, the children put their knowledge to the test with a fun safety quiz.

The children enjoyed a carousel of practical activities. At one station, they used pipettes to squirt water onto painted flames in a tuff tray, pretending to be firefighters putting out fires. We also played a safe or unsafe sorting game, where the children worked together to place different safety captions into the correct category.

At the small-world table, the children used their imaginations to become firefighters responding to fires caused by fireworks on Halloween night. They also developed their fine motor skills by using tweezers to decorate colourful firework pictures and created beautiful salt art fireworks inspired by the bright colours and patterns seen in the night sky.

It was a fun and engaging lesson that helped us learn important safety messages while developing our creativity, teamwork, and fine motor skills. 🚒🎆✨🎃
