🔢🏃 Maths in Motion! 🏃🔢

Primary 3 got active during Maths Week Ireland with some fantastic number-themed PE games that combined mathematical thinking with movement, teamwork and lots of fun!

The children put their number knowledge to the test by working together to arrange themselves in order from smallest to biggest and then reversing the challenge to go from biggest to smallest!

Next, it was time for some speedy sorting! Numbers were scattered across the floor and the children had to race to sort them into the correct hoops, following rules such as ‘less than 20’ and ‘greater than 70’. 🔢

Our final challenge really got our brains and bodies working! The children were given quick-fire addition sums, had to calculate the answers mentally and then quickly organise themselves into groups matching the correct answer! 🧠⚡

These energetic activities were a brilliant way to develop number recognition, ordering, mental maths and problem-solving skills while encouraging communication and teamwork.

Who says maths has to happen sitting at a desk? P3 certainly proved that learning maths can keep us on our toes! 🌟👏
