🔢🍀Maths Week Ireland- Maths All Around Me🍂🌳

P2 have been celebrating Maths Week Ireland by discovering that maths is all around us!

We started with an exciting estimation game, where the children had to guess how many figures were hiding in a jar. There were 17 figures altogether! 🎯🔍

Next, Miss Walsh gave each group a special number, and the children headed outdoors to collect that exact number of natural materials. 🍃🌰 They then compared their collections with those of other groups, using their mathematical language to decide whether they had the same as, fewer than or more than another group.

It was wonderful to see P2 exploring maths in the world around them, developing their estimation skills, counting accuracy and confidence in comparing amounts. ➕🔢
