WALT: Recognise, say, and form the letter i and its sound.

We had lots of fun exploring the letter i during our phonics carousel activities! The children practised recognising and forming the letter in a variety of exciting ways.

Using cotton buds and paint, we carefully painted the letter i, and we enjoyed writing it with colourful chalk. We also practised our letter formation on wipe-and-write sheets, helping us to develop correct letter formation and pencil control.

At the fine motor stations, the children used Play-Doh to build and shape the letter i and created the letter using colourful pom poms. These hands-on activities helped to reinforce the letter shape while strengthening the muscles needed for writing.

It was a fun-filled session that helped us become more confident in recognising, forming, and saying the i sound through play and exploration! 🌟✏️🎨🔤😊
